Birthday Party

party pennants, a huge cake with happy birthday candles, Mikey happily at the table and a big bunch of balloons.
A birthday party at a friend's house...feeling blessed!

This birthday party was hosted by the family of another child in our special needs community.  Dave and I knew the family well and both of our boys were included.  Parents were also invited to stay since special needs families already understand that each child might need a different level of supervision, depending on the activity.

Journal entry from June 21, 2014. 'I went to D's birthday party!' photos of coloring lego mini figures, swimming, building lego cars and eating cake.
What a great party! We were happy to be included.

This party could have been custom made for Mikey: legos, coloring, cake, swimming and understanding kids all around.  What a fantastic day!
