Birthday Party Ideas

This is our annual joint birthday post. I try to share a bit about celebrating birthdays without divulging my boys actual birth dates. Since they both have summer birthdays, usually, I share how we celebrated, but this year, I thought I might just give you a list of birthday parties we have hosted or attended that worked well for our family.

- A quiet celebration at home with a selection of our special kiddos’ favorite things.
- Art party (either out at a place or at home).
- Decorating cupcakes party.
- Lego party (build, eat cake, go home).
- Bounce houses (rented for the afternoon, they put them up in your yard and come get them the next day).
- Pirate treasure scavenger hunt (low key, hangout in the backyard, ending with the scavenger hunt for their goodie bags).
- Pool party (when they were little, we did a couple of blow up pools and the kids were happy).
- Trampoline Park party
- Pottery painting party out at a venue.
- Take a couple of friends to a baseball game or other minor league sporting event.
- Bowling parties (these are Mikey’s personal favorite)
- Movie theater parties (you could also totally do this at home and just set up little towels in front of your TV).

Since Will had a surprise party, we just did low-key cake and presents on his birthday day. He was happy with that.
