Beardsley Zoo

Mikey's friend helping him to spread his wings and measure his 'wingspan' v. common large birds.
Spreading our wings and having some fun.

The Beardsley Zoo is a small zoo in Bridgeport, CT.  Mikey’s bike camp was closer to the zoo than home, so we met up with friends after his camp was over.  My mom joined us also! I will share more about that tomorrow.

journal entry from August 20, 2014. Beardsley Zoo Trip. Just one photo of mikey doing the wingspan test.
Mikey’s bestie was always there to help him participate.

This exhibit allowed the kids to measure their own ‘wingspan’ and compare it to different large birds.

We went through the entire zoo and still made it home before bedtime.

As I look at this, I can’t help but be amazed that we all had the energy to do this.  This was a jam-packed day, and I was probably pushing it by making the schedule so hectic.

This time, it worked out okay. We got to spread our wings and had a great time!
