Baking Brownies

There are so many life skills involved in baking and kids get a yummy treat at the end. Think about it. There are all the cooking skills listed in Mikey’s journal entry: pouring the mix, cracking the egg, measuring and mixing. Plus, there’s cleaning up, waiting for the brownies to bake and cool, sharing the brownies with family or friends (my own personal biggest challenge).

The kitchen is such a great place for kids to feel empowered and learn some really good life skills. Plus, the whole family gets to eat the delicious results of all the hard work.
