Backyard Snowshoeing

4 photos of Mikey trudging through the snow on his snowshoes, one photo of him swinging on the swinger in his snowshoes and a close-up of the snow shoes by the back door.
So much fresh air and exercise in the dead of winter.

For my original post on snowshoeing, which explains why in the heck we would own snowshoes, click the link below.

Now that you have the background, I can share that for most of the winter, we just left the snowshoes propped up against the wall next to the back door. Mikey needed help to put them on and needed to be supervised when using them (the bottoms are sharp).  Having easy access to them meant we used them often.  We also left the sleds back there so outdoor fun was always just steps away.

journal entry for February 6, 2015. 'I went snow-shoeing in my backyard! 6 photos of the backyard snowshoeing adventure.
Apparently, you can even use the swings in your snowshoes! Go, Mikey!

I hadn’t thought of it until now, but our dogs must have loved how much time we spent outside.  Now we’re all a little bit older and more boring so our canine companion spends a little more time outside on his own, exploring the snowy backyard.
