Apple Picking

If you do one Fall activity with your special needs child, I’d go with apple picking. Here’s why: It’s outside, usually relatively quiet, the timing is open-ended so it can be as long or as short as you want and there are snacks naturally offered all along the way.

This was a fun day out with my stepsister and her family. We picked some apples, and Mikey did a little picking and a lot of snacking. We had a great time.
And, apple picking photos are iconic Autumn keepsakes! Snap a couple of photos and don’t forget to chat about them with your child.
