An Apple a Day

For as long as I can remember, Michael has eaten an apple a day…at least one! In fact, I sometimes cap the number of apples Michael is allowed to eat in a day to save him from digestive distress! Apples move right on through, folks. Not pretty, but true!

A Funny Memory
One summer at a BBQ in our backyard, I put out a bowl of fruit with lunch. I know some people put the fruit out with dessert. In my experience, when I put the fruit out with dessert, the kids never ate any of it, but if I put it out with the burgers, hot dogs and raw veggies, they would take a piece to go with their lunch.
Michael was going for his fourth apple, and I was getting worried that his stomach would start to hurt. We had the ingredients for s’mores out by the fireplace. My friend didn’t realize how many apples he had already eaten and walked up just as I said, “Mikey, no more apples. Have a marshmallow!” She was cracking up…Here, Mikey, eat this food with no nutritional value instead of a healthy apple!
