Affirmations

hearts surrounding the phrase, "I got Valentine's Day cards."
Yeah, you did! Go, Mikey!

We’re flashing forward to a high school journal entry.  High school can be a tough time for any kid. Between puberty, hormones, insecurity and increasing demands, things can feel overwhelming. Who couldn’t use some affirmations from pals?

Mikey was proud to share these with us. We read them together and he smiled the whole time.

Michael’s special ed class made cards for each other by sharing affirmations.  Each one says, “I like Michael because…” and each student filled in the blank.

I like Michael because he has the best laugh and an infectious smile! Love, Mom

Mikey loved these and they stayed on his bulletin board at home for a long time.  He loves having friends and being included and these cards meant a lot to him.
