A Slight Misunderstanding

Forgive me if I have shared this story. Dave’s mom had to have open heart surgery in her 70’s. Our home in Connecticut is on a hilly piece of property, and the pool is up a large flight of slate steps. We often host parties up at the pool, but the bathrooms are down in the house. So, after Dave’s mom had recovered from her surgery and wanted to come up for a visit, we bought a golf cart to drive her up from the driveway to the pool and down to use the restroom if she needed it.
As Dave was telling her about this, she seemed more concerned than relieved. As we dug deeper into her worry, we realized that there are two kinds of golf carts: the motorized kind and the kind that look like a hand truck for your clubs. Dave’s mom was picturing the kind you push, expecting us to wheel her up the hill like she was Hanibal Lecter. We got a good laugh out of that one!

And the golf cart has been lots of fun for Mikey as well. He still requests rides every summer day.
