A Journaling Idea

If August is a busy and stressful time for you as a parent, but you’d still like to do a journal with your child, you have a few options.
You could just do a journal entry with your child for each of the biggest and best days of the summer. Or, like Mr. Mikes…you could just do one giant summary page right before you head back to school. Let your child pick the pictures they want to include. If they struggle to communicate, even with a photo prompt, consider captioning each photo.

This gives your child something to share when the question, “What did you do this summer?” comes up. It surely will.
